[Base Layer] Lasting Logan

Review and Analysis of Lasting Logan

Introduction

I have extensively used the Logan baselayer (top) by Lasting during summer and autumn daylong climbs in the challenging terrains of the Alps and the Tatras, long expeditions to the mountains of Siberia, as well as for running workouts and hikes. The Logan’s performance has been consistently very good across various activities and weather conditions.

During summer climbs in the Alps and Tatras, the Logan excels as a first layer, providing just the right amount of warmth without causing overheating. The 100% Merino wool construction ensures a comfortable and pleasant touch against the skin, and its flexible and elastic nature allows unrestricted movement while climbing. Moreover, the natural properties of pure Merino wool keep odors at bay, allowing me to wear the shirt for extended periods without worrying about unpleasant smells, which is especially valuable during multi-day or multi-week treks.

In autumn, the Logan continues to shine as a reliable baselayer, providing the necessary insulation during colder days. The flat seams are a thoughtful addition, preventing abrasions and enhancing overall comfort, which is crucial during long climbs and hikes. The durability of the Merino wool fabric is evident, as the shirt remains itch-free and maintains its quality even after repeated use and washes.

What would I improve? It’s hard to say, but one thing that comes to my mind could be a somewhat faster drying. However, I usually sweat a lot (beyond a certain level of intensity), and it’s essentially impossible for a purely Merino baselayer to dry very fast after being, well, completely soaked. So here I’d value the Merino design and comfort more than the synthetic one that could be faster drying but simultaneously less comfortable and more smelly.

In summary, Logan is a great base layer, to be get online at the SklepGorski website.
